Thank you from Chris

Dear Friends,

My trip to India was a life-changing experience - but so was following along with My Passport to India over the past few weeks!

Over the past few weeks, we've discovered so much about India, and seen God deepen our love for this amazing nation. I'm so thankful we could take this journey together!

I am excited about how God is working in India, and ALSO about what He has been doing in your own homes! The stories you've shared with me and Mission India have been fantastic! Over these past few weeks it's become so clear to all of us that God is working in a really special way in your families through this program.

God is using My Passport to India to impact the lives of your kids! And your kids responded!

Your children have displayed incredible excitement, creativity and passion - and they have been the key to this project's success. And I want them to know - and Mission India wants them to know - just how much they inspire us!

Thank you!

Open Their Eyes

Today's verse: "Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles.

"I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me." (Acts 26:16-18)

Paul's experience meeting Jesus was so life-changing, it was also name-changing.

In this passage from Acts, Paul talks about the instructions he received from Jesus on the road to Damascus - the day he went from being a Christian-hating Saul to a Christ-following Paul.

Jesus commanded Paul to be a witness to the Gentiles - people who do not know Jesus. "I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light..."

If you think about it, there's something a little strange about Jesus' command. Read the story again in Acts 9:1-7. A light from heaven flashed around him, Paul fell to the ground, he heard a voice. What happened when he stood up?

What a strange and impossible command, to tell a blind man that he will open eyes and turn people from darkness to light! How impossible is that?!

Have you ever been asked to do something so difficult that it seems impossible? God calls us all to do exactly that - to share the Gospel with the world.

Imagine how Paul might have felt about the assignment God gave him. "The Gentiles are different from me, I can't eat their unclean food, the worship idols, and they are SO MANY! Impossible!

Fortunately Paul was not alone. God also made arrangements for others to help him. He called Ananias to take away the blindness; he called Barnabas to introduce him to the other disciples.

When God puts an impossible challenge in front of us, he also introduces us to a lot of other believers who are working together. Who were some of of these fellow workers that you met on your India tour?

One last thing... God never let Paul retire. His calling was not a short term mission - it was for life. Paul brought the gospel to Rome, but it took another 300 years before the Roman Empire turned to follow Christ.

India is a big, almost impossible challenge. How has God called you to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ? (Acts 26:16-18)

Let's Take Action!

Throughout My Passport to India, you've been learning about life in India.

Chris introduced you to many people - including lots of kids - who are meeting Jesus for the first time!

But there are still millions who have never even heard of Him!

Today, you have an opportunity to do something about that!

You can give the gift of a Children's Bible Club to boys and girls in India who are waiting to learn about Jesus. This is an incredible, effective way to share the Gospel in India!

In case you've missed it, here's how Children's Bible Clubs work:

Mission India trains and equip India's Christians to introduce a Children's Bible Club in their own community. Each $1 enrolls another child - $40 provides an entire club for 40 kids.

Bible Club curriculum materials are developed by Indians for Indians and are available in India's major languages.

Children's Bible Clubs:

  • Introduce boys and girls to a loving God who created each child in His image
  • Teach Bible stories and songs
  • Provide a safe place to play and just be a kid
  • Teach youngsters to share their faith with friends and family
  • Encourage good nutrition & hygiene
  • Inspire children to serve their communities and become future leaders

Throughout My Passport to India, you've been filling your family suitcase with coins and dollars for Children's Bible Clubs.

  • Each $1 you give can change a life in India!

Add up the coins and dollars in your family suitcase. Make a gift to Mission India in that amount online or with a check in the mail.

Then put your last stamp in your passport!
